Description

Hot melt label tape HM6102 is specially used for printing tongue labels for sneaker of gym shoes.It is a types of lamination material,facestock is made of coated nylon fabric which is compatible with different printing and reverse side is made of thermal-activated PE adhesive.Labels made of hot melt label tape can stick in to the labelling subject firmly while it is heated by electric iron or special machines used for activated the hot melt adhesive.

Product Characteristics

Product Use Steps
1. Preparation
Check the equipment: Make sure that the temperature of the hot melt adhesive labeling machine (or hot press, iron) is adjustable and stable.
– Choose a label: Choose the appropriate hot melt label (e.g., high-temperature, low-temperature) based on the material to be labeled (e.g., fabric, plastic, metal).
– Clean the surface: The surface of the object should be dry, free of oil and dust, otherwise the adhesive strength will be affected.
2. Heat activation
– Set temperature: refer to the label instructions (usually 75°C~230°C), for example:
– Normal fabric: about 120°C~150°C
– Heating method:
– Labeling machine: automatic label feeding and heating and pressing (suitable for mass production).
– Iron/heat press: Place the label on the object, cover it with a heat-resistant cloth (such as a silicone pad), and press it with an iron for 10~30 seconds (adjust according to the thickness of the label).
– Heat gun: Evenly heat the back of the label until the adhesive layer melts (avoid local overheating).
3. Pressing and cooling
– Uniform pressure: Flatten with a roller or hand immediately after heating to expel air bubbles.
– Natural cooling: After the adhesive layer solidifies (about 5~10 seconds), a firm bond can be formed to avoid immediate pulling.

2. Precautions for hot melt labels Usage 

1. Temperature Control: The temperature is too low→ the glue is not completely melted and the viscosity is insufficient. – Excessive temperature → The adhesive line carbonizes or damages the label facestock.

2. Pressure Adjustment: – Hard materials (e.g. metals) need to be pressed together at high pressure for short periods of time. – Soft materials (e.g. fabrics) need to be deformed at low pressure for a long time.

3. Environmental Requirements: – Avoid handling in wet or low temperatures (which may result in failure of the bond line). 4. Security Protection: – Wear heat-resistant gloves during operation to prevent burns. – Maintain ventilation to avoid accumulation of volatiles in hot melt adhesives.

3. Solve common problems 

Label off: Check if the temperature is up to standard, or if the surface is clean.

Adhesive line overflow: Reduces pressure or compression time.

Label wrinkling: Make sure that the object to be applied is flat and evenly applied when pressed.
